September 21, 2022Treasury yields decline as investors sake safety ahead of an expected 75-basis point rate increase in the US amid Russia’s nuclear threat. The two-year is at 3.955% and the 10-year at 3.531%, both below yesterday levels but holding near multi-year highs. “Yields are fractionally lower as money from abroad seeks safety,” Spartan’s Peter Cardillo says in a note. Meanwhile, the Fed’s hawkish stand seems to be priced in, with investors bracing for the fed funds rate forecast to be raised to around 4.5% from 3.4%.
